#### PV 17 PA 16 – PLACE VALUE, PARTITION, ORDER, COUNT FROM, FOUR-DIGIT NUMBERS

Children investigate and explain place value concepts of teen and two-digit numbers –  Place Value 11, and three-digit numbers – Place Value 15
Children investigate standard and non-standard place value of four-digit numbers.
Children also investigate partitioning four-digit numbers, explaining when the partitions are place values and when they are not.
Children also investigate ordering four-digit numbers on a number line.
Children also count by 10s, 100s, and 1000s, explaining which digits change and why.
This will allow children to begin to develop the understanding that they will apply to adding and subtracting three-, four-, and five-digit numbers, including as money – integrated with Addition and Subtraction 21, Addition and Subtraction 23 Money and Financial Mathematics 9, and Addition and Subtraction 24 Money and Financial Mathematics 10
