MG 56 – SKETCH THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECTS AND THEIR NETS
Children continue to develop their understanding that straight lines that meet at points are edges that meet at vertices, and that curved lines are just curved lines.
They also continue to develop their understanding that flat surfaces with straight lines are faces, that flat surfaces with curved lines are just flat surfaces, and that curved surfaces are just curved surfaces.
Children draw prisms and pyramids from different perspectives by selecting and drawing one two-dimensional face, then drawing other visible faces diagonally to create the illusion of a third dimension.
They visualise and draw prisms and pyramids from their net, describing the placement of faces.
