MG 44 – VIEWPOINTS OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECTS
Children continue to develop their understanding that straight lines that meet at points are edges that meet at vertices, and that curved lines are just curved lines.
They also continue to develop their understanding that flat surfaces with straight lines are faces, that flat surfaces with curved lines are just flat surfaces, and that curved surfaces are just curved surfaces.
Children identify prisms and pyramids, cylinders, cones identifying any vertices, straight lines as edges and curved lines, and flat surfaces with edges as faces, flat surfaces with curved lines and curved surfaces.
They sketch vertices, edges and faces of prisms and pyramids, surfaces and lines of cylinders and cones using perspective.
Children construct models using cubes and draw each view, construct models from view drawings.
