MG 34 – PRISMS AND PYRAMIDS
Children continue to develop their understanding that straight lines that meet at points are edges that meet at vertices, and that curved lines are just curved lines.
They also continue to develop their understanding that flat surfaces with straight lines are faces, that flat surfaces with curved lines are just flat surfaces, and that curved surfaces are just curved surfaces.
Children describe and draw features of prisms and pyramids – vertical, horizontal and parallel lines (edges), angles (with vertices).
They identify symmetry in prisms, and pyramids.
Children deconstruct packaging to create and identify a variety of nets of prisms and pyramids.
