MG 13 – SIDES ON TWO-DIMENSIONAL SHAPES
Children name sides as straight lines that meet at points (vertices).
They use this understanding to name two-dimensional shapes by the number of sides,
identifying that all 3-sided shapes are triangles.
all 4-sided shapes are quadrilaterals,
all 5-sided shapes are pentagons,
all 6-sided shapes are hexagons,
and all 8-sided shapes are octagons.
