AS 14 – ADD AND SUBTRACT 10s NUMBERS, BRIDGING 100 USING PLACE VALUE
Children use their developing understanding of counting forwards and backwards by 10s on the decade, explaining which digit changes and why (Place Value 12, Patterns and Algebra 11), partitioning 10s numbers (Place Value 13), friends of 100 (Place Value 14) and Standard and Non-standard Place Value of Three-digit Numbers (Place Value 15) to investigate adding and subtracting tens numbers bridging 100.
As children are investigating adding and subtracting, they continue to investigate these place value concepts.
