Algebraic, Additive and Multiplicative Thinking Professional Learning

We think algebraically as we look for patterns in relationships in our world. Additive thinking involves thinking in terms of addition. Multiplicative thinking involves thinking in terms of multiplication - in orders of magnitude. Unless children are explicitly taught to think algebraically, additively and multiplicatively, it may never happen for many of them. In fact many adults don't think multiplicatively, causing problems with debt!
